The Wind

On the North East coast of Brazil the wind blows continually from June to February, always from the South East. The Cumbuco, Paracuru and Ilha do Guajiru strip of coast is located just south of the equator and therefore is in the area of the south eastern trade winds. The many sand dunes bordering the coast of Ceara thermally reinforce the southeast trade wind adding around 5-6 knots more in strength. As you move up the coast from Cumbuco, past Paracuru to Ilha do Guajiru the wind increases in strength.

Students attending courses at a Blown Away Kitesurfing School between the months of June and February are 100% certain to complete their kitesurfing course.

If you’re on holiday for 14 days in Ceara during these 9 windy months you should expect to kitesurf every single day, kite size from 5m to 14m.
